Everyday our blogs are bombarded by people spamming them and trying to access them in ways they are not supposed to.
I am sure you are well aware of all of the spam comments you get as you have to delete them off of your blog on a daily basis.
There are also all of the people trying to hack into your WordPress Admin area. These people you may not be aware of unless you have the plugin Limit Login Attempts which prevents them from attempting to enter your admin area after so many wrong trys. This plugin will also identify the IP address of the hacker for you.
The next problem is what to do with the information you get when someone leaves you a spammy comment or trys to hack your admin area.
Do you just delete the spammy comment and hope they don’t leave a spammy comment on every post on your blog? Do you just hope the person trying to hack into your admin area goes away?
I don’t know about you but I don’t want to have to deal with these people more than once so I ban their IP address from my website forever.
In the following video I show you how to do this using a simple little program in the CPanel.
What I am going to show you is a really simple little tool that is in your CPanel. If you are one of those people who never go to your CPanel because you do not want to mess anything up, you can do this. I show you exactly how to get to the tool and how to use it. This tool is a fool proof tool and you can not mess up you blog.
What about you?
What do you do when someone spams you or trys to hack your admin?
