I have read a quite a few posts recently on relationship building and just what that means to a blogger.
I was actually featured in a post that Adrienne Smith wrote not long ago. It you did not see that post you can find it here Why It Is Never A Waste Of Time. In this post Adrienne talked about why it is never a waste of time to build relationships with other people/bloggers online.
In all of the posts on relationship building the blogger tells why it is so important not only to have great content and lots of traffic but to also actually build deeper relationships with other bloggers.
If you have read all of these posts maybe you are getting the idea that relationship building is a very important part of blogging.
I also believe that building relationships is extremely important. I am going to tell you why I believe they are so important.
I have been working on my first product and it has taken me forever to finish it.
Oh, making the product was the fast part and the fun part. It has been everything else that has taken me so long to do. I had no idea there were so many steps to get from a finished product on my computer or in Amazon S3 (in my case) to actually getting it ready for sale. If I had know all of this to begin with, I may not have ever even started this product.
I have learned a lot along the way and now have a much greater appreciation for anyone who sells any product they have created online.
My Product Is Approved By ClickBank
I cannot believe it but as of Monday, October 7, 2013 my product has been approved by ClickBank. I never thought I would see this. I will now be setting my release date. The work is not all done yet but I am getting close. I will be announcing the release date for Blog Security Defender very soon now.
I will have to say that I did not do this alone. There are many people who helped me along the way. Four of those people were extremely influential in me getting my product to where it is now.
My Blogging Buddies Who Helped So Much
WordPress Theme and Sales Page
You can find Dawn at DawnKaysBlog.com. Dawn was the first person who helped me with my product. I met Dawn through networking online shortly after I started blogging.
Dawn and I were both working on membership sites at the same time and were both using the same WordPress Theme to set up our membership sites.
We spent lots of time emailing, Skyping and chatting while we both tried to figure out how to use the membership theme.
I will say that I don’t think I would have ever figured the theme out without Dawn. She was a great help to me at that time.
After working together on that theme Dawn and I both went our own ways. We have both gone on to work on the internet but in different areas.
I had been struggling with my sales page for months. I had no idea how to write a sales page but had managed to get one together.
Whenever I would ask someone to look at my sales page to see if I had done it right all I heard was I needed to fix the sales page as it was not right. The problem was, I did not know how to fix it.
Sylviane came to my rescue and fixed my sales page for me. I actually wrote an entire post about this at Blogging Friends Come To My Rescue if you would like to read more.
Without Dawn’s and Sylviane’s help I would never have figured out the membership site or finished my sales page. I could not have produced this product without them. I met both of these people though networking on the internet.
The next two people did not just help me in just one area. They were both there for me the entire time I was creating my product.
Barry Wells of barry-wells.com has been an unbelievable support. I met Barry back when I was just starting my blog.
I actually left my first comment on his blog.
Some of you have probably read in my past posts about my fear of putting anything into writing. I was so nervous when I left that first comment and Barry was so nice to me.
Had Barry not been interested in networking as well as his content and how much traffic he was getting I would never have met him.
I have learned a lot from Barry over the last couple of years and have gotten to know him as a friend as well as on his blog. I like to think I have helped Barry out at times also but, the thing I am sure of is he has helped me greatly.
Barry (having produced several products of his own) is the person I write to whenever I panic about some step in the process that is not going as I think it should. He always comes back immediately with a reassuring answer and a solution to my impending disaster or what I think is an impending disaster. Having been reassured that everything is ok, I can move on and complete the step.
Without Barry I think I would have given up a long time ago. I would have just panicked and quit not knowing what else to do.
Last but definitely not least is my very good friend Adrienne Smith. You can find Adrienne at adriennesmith.net where she has a fabulous blog and a great following.
Adrienne is truly my lifesaver.
I met Adrienne shortly after I started blogging. I was so impressed with Adrienne’s blog that I wrote her an email and asked if I could come to her with questions I might have about blogging. She of course said yes. If you know Adrienne at all you know she is always willing to help anyone.
We then found that we were both taking the same course on Blogging and enjoyed visiting with each other. Our friendship developed from there.
Adrienne is a great support both online and off. We actually have our own little Master Mind group which consists of 2 people and talk most weeks.
There were so many times through out this whole process of producing my product that I would have just given up if it had not been for Adrienne encouraging me during one of our Master Mind Meetings.
If it could go wrong it did for me. There were many times I just really did not know which way to turn and many times Adrienne was there encouraging me to go on. She did not always have an answer to my problem but she was there to support me and encourage me to keep on going and figure things out.
I could go on forever about all of the times Adrienne helped me through a crisis with encouragement but, I am sure you do not want to read all of that. I am just so thankful to have Adrienne as a friend.
My Product Would Not Be Here Without Networking
I met each one of these people networking though blogging. I would never have made a product or come close to finishing it without them.
I think this shows that networking is a very important part in blogging. Sure we need content and traffic as we would not have a blog without content and the content would be all for not without the traffic but, without the support of the people we meet though networking I would have given up a long time ago.
Thank you to Dawn, Sylviane, Barry, Adrienne and all of the other bloggers who have helped me get my product to the point it is now.
I have listed these four people because they have had a major influence in my life online but there were others who helped me as I proceeded on my blogging/internet marketing journey. I would like to thank all of my blogging buddies for everything you have done to help me.
