This post is a part of a challenge being hosted by Barry Wells.
In this challenge each participant will create 4 videos between February 29 and March 29, 2012. The participant then adds the videos to their blog.
These videos are to be on some aspect of Internet Marketing.
Barry is trying to get as many people as possible to create videos and ad them to their blogs.
To find all of the videos being created for the challenge go to The Video Blog Challenge on Barry’s blog.
My Videos
I am doing a series of 4 videos on Photoshop.
In these videos I will be showing some Photoshop basics for the beginner. You may learn something though even if you have used Photoshop before as I will be showing several different ways of doing some things.
Photoshop Made Easy – Part 3: Blending Images
My third video is about Blending Images.
Blending images comes in handy when you have 2 or more images that you want to make into one. Maybe you want to make a header or just a picture that shows multiple aspects of a trip you took. There could be lots of reasons to blend two images together and it is pretty easy using Photoshop.
In this video I will show you how to blend images together in two different ways.
After watching the video I hope you will go out and try your hand blending images. I have had so much fun doing this. I have made collages and many other blended pictures using these techniques.
As always I love comments. Let me know what you think of my video and/or what you think of Barry’s challenge. Also let me know if you have other ways of blending pictures on Photoshop. One thing I have learned about Photoshop is, there are multiple ways of doing everything. Some of the ways are easier than others and no one source tells you every way.
Be sure you go to The Video Blog Challenge on Barry’s blog and check out the rest of the videos. You will find a lot of really good information.

Another great information video. I need to store them somewhere so I can go to them when I find the occassion to use them. Maybe you have a system in place for such storage.
I am trying to organize my MS One Note to use as a warehouse, but I still can’t find things there. I’m not sure whether it has a search engine or not.
Thanks for your recomendation of Hostgator. I have had several other people recomend it but not with the correct timming.
Glen,
I know some people use Evernote to store posts that they want to go back and read again at a later date.
I have not used it very much but you could try it. Just Google it and I am sure you will be able to find it.
I am glad that you are finding my videos useful.
Good Luck with Hostgator. I think it is great hosting.
Thanks for stopping by.

Loved the video Dee Ann!
These photoshop series have surely been a wonderful learning experience for all of us!
The layer mask ingredient tool surely does take a lot of trial and errors before you really get something right. I have worked on this tool, though very long back and I used to always forget to choose the layer, which landed be re-doing it all over again
The rectangluar tool I really haven’t tried, though it seems simpler than both the options! Seems to work faster as well
Would surely give it a try I think!
I loved what you did with color crop, that sure was wonderful- and something that’s more commonly used I think- wonderful indeed!
I guess the more time you spend on Photoshop, trying out various things, the better and faster you become.
Thanks for sharing, and wishing you the best with Barry’s challenege

Harleena,
I think that is true, the more time you spend on Photoshop the more fun it gets and the better & faster you get at using it.
I find layer masks to be very difficult and time consuming. I have used it but never very successfully.
I know what you mean about forgetting to pick the layers. I spend more time going back undoing things just so I can do it right. I even did it when I was making the video. I think I cut some of that out. Figured people did not need to watch me go back multiple times.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Hi Dee Ann,
These tutorials are really something that most of us need to learn. I think they’re great. I really have trouble matching colours as I’m colour blind and I also use a colour match software
I think the 2nd method was easier to and got the results quicker so when i try it I’ll use that methos. The image with the chicken was the start of a great looking header and we all need those
I tend to get frustrated with Photoshop because I don’t know what I’m doing so I switch from Snagit to Photoshop and back again until I’ve done the job.
I’ve just replaced the text on my blog header and think the text is now to dark, but I was playing with the other night until my eyes went funny so came away again.
I’ll be going over your videos a few more times as i try to follow along and learn how to do all this.
That’s another great thing about placing a series like this on your blog, I know exactly where to come for my re-cap tutorials.
Excellent job, thanks Dee Ann. Oh and thanks for mentioning and linking to the challenge, much appreciated
Take care,
Barry
Barry,
I don’t know how you do it being color blind. I know several other people who are color blind and I just think it much be very difficult. Especially when it comes to designing anything.
I am glad that you are learning something from my videos.
I also get very frustrated with Photoshop and have used Snagit several times when I did not know how to do it on Photoshop.
I am figuring out thought that as I become more comfortable with Photoshop it is so much easier to just use Photoshop for everything. I also like how things turn out using Photoshop verses any other program.
I have a friend I can call when ever I get stumped and that helps but, I also bought the book “Learn Photoshop the Quick and Easy Way!” “Visual Quickstart Guide” by Elaine Weinmann and Peter Lourekas.
I is a fabulous resource when I get stumped.
Have a great weekend Barry and thanks for stopping by.

I came here from Barry’s FB post and because I am lousy at PhotoShop. That may possibly be because I haven’t taken the time to sit down and study.
Although I am not an auditory learner and shy away from video, I am downloading these and take notes.
Thanks for a good job.

Hi Deeann! Barry’s challenge is truly awesome isn’t it? I’ve been meaning to get over here since day one. This group has an astonishing wealth of knowledge to share.
I haven’t used Photoshop since CS3 which was on my old pc. I have Photoshop elements now and even that one is out of date. I’m sure I can use at least one of these techniques with the watered down toolset they have. Thanks for the tutorial. Nicely done!
Ileane,
I am amazed also at all of the knowledge being shared in Barry’s challenge. If someone wants to know how to do something this would be the place to go.
I am using cs4 as cs5 was not out yet when I bought mine.
Hope that some of what I am saying on my videos will be of help to you with Photoshop Elements.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Sorry for not stopping by sooner Dee Ann even if I don’t have PhotoShop. I still enjoy watching your videos and the lessons you’re teaching us. It just proves to me what I don’t know and I like knowing that you are such a pro with this software.
I have seen a few things that some of my free programs will do but not to the extent PhotoShop will of course. That’s why it’s the big bucks.
Still enjoyed your video Dee Ann and I’ll be back by this week to see what you follow up with.
Have a great week!

Adrienne,
I don’t know what I would do without my Photoshop. I am so glad that I purchased it when I did.
The more I use it the more I love using it and the more fun I have.
Glad you stopped by even if you do not have Photoshop.
Have a great week.

Hi there Dee Ann,
It’s very valuable to know how to do these things in Photoshop. There’s a saying- if you want something done right, do it yourself.
I’m not saying you can’t outsource but sometimes it’s so cool to know how to do these things yourself! Great Video Dee Ann, thanks for showing us how to blend images, great time saver,
